Endearingly named “The Lounge,” this space is an inviting retreat designed for gathering—an extension of the family’s lake home where friends and family can come together, linger, and unwind. More than simply a recreation space, The Lounge was envisioned as a place with its own energy and vibration: warm, grounded, tactile, and quietly transportive.

Transformed into a light-filled main floor with the weightless feeling of a modern luxury getaway. Clean architecture, stunning custom cabinetry, neutral tones emphasized by unexpected color, layered lighting, and thoughtfully curated hardware and finishes are balanced with organic, natural materials to create a home that feels fresh, modern, and elevated—yet relaxed and welcoming for this beautiful family of six.

Grounded in the character of the home’s Colonial 1936 architecture, this main floor remodel embraces a refined, minimalist interpretation of old-world sensibility without feeling overly formal. Collected finishes, subtle patina, and timeless details bring depth and soul, while a restrained palette and abundant natural light keep the spaces feeling fresh, open, and effortlessly airy. Rather than reinventing the home, the renovation thoughtfully reveals and elevates its inherent character—creating a timeless, deeply livable interior that feels both storied and new, elegant yet relaxed, and designed to evolve beautifully with family life.

Inspired by the quiet beauty of the Pacific Northwest, the main level of this home was thoughtfully refreshed for a family recently relocated from Seattle, seeking a retreat that feels both personal and grounded. Each space was designed to reflect a life lived with intention — calm, connected, and full of quiet character. We introduced moments of layered lighting where none existed before, added warmth and texture through refined materials, and shaped an effortless balance between function and feeling.

Designed from the ground up, this new home reflects the homeowners’ unique vision and way of life. Every detail—from the flow of each space to the selection of finishes—was guided by their preferences and lifestyle. Spaces for rest, connection, and daily life are unified by a cohesive architectural framework, elevated finishes, and a natural, minimal and grounded aesthetic.
