Lakeside Lounge
Affectionately known as “The Lounge,” this ground up construction recreational space overlooking the lake, embraces a fresh, Scandinavian sensibility feeling grounded, calming, and deeply connected to its natural surroundings..
The material palette centers on living finishes—natural, tactile elements chosen not for perfection, but for the beauty and character they develop over time. Concrete floors and planked ceiling establish an earthy architectural foundation, while Roman clay walls add depth, movement, and organic softness. Extended-jamb millwork and natural woven Roman shades frame the windows and filter light, Custom-designed, rift-cut white oak cabinetry with integrated hardware and Carrara marble worktops balance Scandinavian simplicity with an abundance of function. Each material was chosen to age gracefully, soften, and gather patina, creating a space that never feels overly precious or dependent on looking new.
Furniture and lighting bring an eclectic mix of elements and cozy softness. An inviting linen cloud sofa chaise, sheepskin armchair, and primitive yet refined white oak furnishings create a relaxed, collected atmosphere that feels effortless rather than overly designed. Handmade ceramic sconces are rhythmically placed throughout the space, while leather, oak, and brass details add warmth and a gentle glow to the bar and subtly define the different areas. An organically shaped handmade ceramic pendant grounds the game table, while a Spanish wool and wood fixture acts as a sculptural anchor over the seating area, adding both visual warmth and acoustic softness.
Together, these layers create a calming, natural space that feels deeply connected to the landscape through light, texture, warmth, and imperfection. The Lounge is designed to become even more beautiful with life—to welcome everyday use, gathering, laughter, conversation, and the quiet moments in between, without ever feeling too precious. It is ultimately a space meant to be lived in, enjoyed, and allowed to evolve alongside the family’s lakeside adventures.
