The Kenilworth
Inspired by the Pacific Northwest, this main-level refresh revitalizes a home for a young family recently relocated from Seattle. The vision was an elevated yet natural home — curated, organized, and deeply personal — with spaces that are both functional and beautiful.
We began by transforming the entry with nature-inspired wallpaper, new lighting, and woven textures, setting the tone for the home. Custom mudroom cabinetry in deep hunter green combines refinement with a streamlined, timeless feel — a tone echoed thoughtfully throughout the main level. In the family great room, we created two complementary zones: one for large gatherings, filled with rich velvet greens, brown and rust tones, wood and rattan textures, and mixed metal layered lighting; the other lighter and playful, designed with the children in mind. Across the level, intentional vignettes combine beauty and function, while a carefully curated palette of organic materials and muted finishes grounds this nature-inspired interior. A bright, bookcase-lined breakfast nook introduces fresh function and elevated style for family meals.
Lighting played a central role in the transformation. Layered ambient, task, and accent lighting — introduced where none existed before — brings warmth and subtle depth. The result is a home that balances function and feeling: inviting yet polished, practical yet soulful. It is a timeless expression of Pacific Northwest living, designed to support comfort, connection, and everyday life.
